Silkie roosters

are silkies rosters violent against each other? just wondering because they usually only come in strait run.

They can be, but in my experience they are not. It all depends on the genetics (were they bred from an aggressive roo), as well as individual personality.

My silkie roo gets along well with my barred rock roo, so I am sure he would get along well with the same breed.

My pet chicken sells them sexed. Also try some local breeders in the area. I guess it depends on how many girls you have per boy. I have a silkie roo and a cochin bantam roo and they get along great.

i don't have silkies but i do know that my roos get together just fine. maybe its because they are dad and son or maybe bc they are bantams

I just ordered my first 5 silkies. I was kinda worried about the same thing. They are straight run so im counting on 4 roosters and 1 hen. Thats my luck lol

How many hen per roster do you have? im planing on 50/50 because of strait run and was worried about having too many rosters fighting.

Or right now i have my roosters penned up for breeding and hav 3 more roaming around in total of all my silkies i have 6 roos and 10 hens lol but only have 3 roos and 3 hens outside but i have lots of other breeds currently i have to many rooster i have like 11-15 and like only 20-30 hens surprinsingly we don't have any cock fights ever.
