I have two young silkies hatched just over 13 weeks ago. I think that I may have one roo and hopefully a pullet! Here are a few shots of them from the other day. The one that I think is a roo has a comb starting and is much bigger and always more upright in posture. The 'pullet' is small and has no comb or wattles to speak of, is always in what I think of as a hen posture. What do you think?

This is the one that I think is a roo...

Another shot of 'him'

This is the one I think is a pullet. See how there is hardly any comb or wattles yet and her 'brother' has both already.

here is one of them together. I am REALLLY hoping that she is a pullet! Out of 6 eggs hatched 5 are roos! Hows that for a percentage that is out of whack!! And we were hoping for more hens! All we got is soup buy the looks of it!

I had 3 roos out of 4 silkie chicks.....And i think cristina had a high roo count too. 07 was a bad year for hatching silkies i guess. I hope someday to live in a world where all roosters will be treated as equals

After looking at that pic again I think you have a pair there. My silkies
had bigger p-combs at 13 weeks but if I compare the two birds in that
pic there is a huge difference.
