Thanks so much FacyChookLady. what should I do about the egg fertilisation? Domino has a very small spur. will he be able to fertilise the girls eggs with out it being big. oh and is it bad only having 3 hens and 1 roo? apparently of roos try to mate with the same hens to often it is bad for the girls.

The size of his spurs won't affect his ability to fertilize eggs. He's probably a little young yet though. Silkie Roos do quite well with just a few hens and they usually look after their hens very well.

Thanks so much. you are being such a help.

. 1 more thing for now. is it true you can eat fertilised eggs?? if so. how do I do it safely with out killing a developing chick?

So long as you collect your eggs daily fertile eggs are no different to infertile eggs. Your hens would have to be sitting ( brooding ) on the eggs for them to start developing into chicks. I'm glad that I have been able to help you. Learning to raise your chickens and eating their fresh eggs is a very rewarding experience .
