silkie sexing

Hi All,

here is the weekly update of my 2 silkies. Updated guesses on gender please and also please let me know what you think about their age as I am just as unsure about this as I am about their pullet status (every night when I turn off the lights I tell them to be girls, but I don't think they really listen to me

).

Now at the age of somewhere between 7 - 12 weeks

Here is the partridge one

And here is the white one:

And here are both of them together

It is hard to photograph them in their 'normal' stance though as they are so curious that as soon as I come closer with the camera (or something moves before their brooder or temporary outside run or there is some noise around the corner both heads pop up as high as they can and they start running around trying to get as close as possible to figure out if there is anything edible coming their way. They are really 2 adorable clowns

.

Thank you for giving me some hope because the more I think about it and the more I stare at them the more confused I get
hu.gif
, all I am sure about at the moment is that they are both sooooo cute and I want to keep them both so they simply have to be two pullets.

Cheers Trish

Hmmm I'm not seeing anything that screams rooster to me ...see any rooish behavior ? I had a silkie cross that looked bit like that ones profile w/ bigger wattles & comb at 9 weeks however it was a cross w/ a Cochin too.

Right now they both look like pullets to me. But the biggish comb and stance of the partridge makes me think it may turn out to be a roo. Wait a few weeks and post updated pictures, some silkies take longer than others to sex, and some you just have to wait for the crow or egg!
