No crowing but seems to be a bit of a trouble maker with the others. But I'm not sure...Hmmm I'm not seeing anything that screams rooster to me ...see any rooish behavior ? I had a silkie cross that looked bit like that ones profile w/ bigger wattles & comb at 9 weeks however it was a cross w/ a Cochin too.

I mixed this up. I meant #2 looks like a pulletSorry! You said they chest bump but Im wondering if one seems to stand taller or appear more curious than the other?
I miss my little silkie chick, dumpling. A raccoon got him. I hate when things like this happen.![]()
I'm going to get another silkie chick, this time a little older so I can put her in with the other chicks. I only had 2 other pullets (EE and SS) in with the one that the raccoon got. I don't know how they managed to get away, but they ran into this little crack between the adult coop and the fence. My 2 other chicks were moved in with my polish hen and silkie roo, and seem to be doing fine. I'm in a suburban area, so we are only aloud to have a certain limit of chickens. My hen and roo are about 11 months, and the 2 pullets are around 2 or 3 months. How old do you think the silkie I buy should be to fit in with the others? Dumpling was very small and vulnerable, probably around 2 months of age. Any suggestions? I want to get one that I can take a good guess on the gender. Thanks! Sorry if this really isn't fitting to the topic of this thread.
That's is a cockerel and not a pure silkie! I don't even see the black skin, toes, or beak that is silkie. I don't believe that's a silkie at all!Red comb at 4 weeksthats a cockerel.
