In the last picture, the mottled bird (Ancona?) with the large, red comb is a cockerel. And maybe the red at the far right as well, I think I see some stringy sickle feathers at the base of the tail. Other than that, the rest look like pulleys. Its much easier to tell gender if you can get individual pictures of each bird though, from the side and good comb shots.

Thanks for that. The white bird in the last pic is the same white bird in first pic....I sure it's a cock...thought the same myself......will get some side shots and repost them....appreciate it

If I had to guess hen....?

Hey-- just thought I'd follow-up on this. Plus, it's nice to see pictures of them as they age. Neither are crowing or laying yet. But, I guess it's a little early still. That or my barred rock who's been crowing since 8 weeks has enough testosterone for the three of them... Bonnie and Clyde at about 13-14 weeks. Clyde Clyde. Bonnie. Bonnie at about 6 weeks and 14 weeks. She loves to give the camera that beady-eyed look. Anyway, my thoughts are still the same, but I'd love to have y'all weigh in.
I think you have a pair and I think your porcelain is the boy :)

The one bird of 3 that I was pretty certain was a hen grew in gold hackle feathers and started acting like a jerk to my showgirl this week... solidified my suspicion by making a really horrible noise this morning that sounded an awful lot like a practice crow this am. Luckily I can have a roo. Unluckily, I think my showgirl is one also, leaving me two roos and one unknown put of 3 birds. May have to let the husband do his own chicken math on this one!

I am really curious about my silkie. I have two adorable white silkies. They are about 21 weeks old. The one I thought was a roo has a mulberry comb and wattles. She is a hen and has laid 4 eggs now. So the other one has me really confused. I thought she was the hen and the other was the roo. Now I don't know what to think. They both seem to have the same feathering. The hen has the mulberry comb and wattles. The other is black comb. It has always been small. There is no crow or squat. What do you think? I had a Gold Laced Cochin Roo and a Black Silkie Roo that were very dominant that I just rehomed. I am curious to know if he is a she or just slower developing because of the two dominant roos I had. The comb on Tweety has always been so small that I was sure he/she was a hen but sometimes I just don't know. Any input is appreciated. :)

Bad pic of my hen, Snowflake!

Silkie 2: 6 weeks old. I would say female from looking at pictures

Silkie 3
.

4 & 5
slightly younger about 4/5 weeks

and finally the white pair

lettie - I would agree on cockerel for your first bird. The rest are still too young to tell. Wait until they are ~4 months and you should be able to figure out by then!
