I'm guessing pullet based on the crest but the comb is larger than pullets I've seen. If its not large in comparison to your cockerel then
I would feel pretty confident saying pullet.

I think it's the color more than size that leaves me wondering, but I'm still guessing pullet.
The top pic is one of my pullet for sure. She has laid an egg every day for a week.

The bottom 3 pics are of Tweety, the one that I am trying to determine. I don't have a cockerel to compare to but Tweety doesn't look like most roo pics I see. Tweety's comb and wattles are half the size of my pullet. I was sure that my pullet was the roo because of her big red comb and wattles.

The thing that is confusing is that Tweety, despite not have a large comb or wattles often seems to be the more protective one, more skittish and not as friendly. However, I have had other pullets that acted this same way until she laid her first egg. I also see no feathering differences between the two.

Either way, roo or pullet, I will keep Tweety. I'm just confused and maybe a little impatient with his/her development, or just excited.

The first two look like roosters. Morning Glory looks like a pullet. Summer may be a pullet, but a clear picture of her crest would help.

I have two silkies that are about 21 weeks old. I know one is a boy, he is crowing. The other I am 99% sure is a girl, but no eggs yet. Should she be laying already?

Hope this pic works... These are my silkies. I am sure the white one is a boy, he crows and the grey one a girl but they are about 21 weeks old now and no eggs yet. Is this normal?
