Here here are a few of my babies... They're about 7 weeks old, maybe 8... Any guesses on gender? I personally think I have 2 roos and 2 hens. :( I want at leasg 3 hens. Anyway, what are y'alls thoughts?

Alright, new silkie mama here! I've been doing some research and i have some guesses on my babies so I'd love to hear what more experienced chicken parents have to say. They are five weeks old today. Each chick has its own line so there's two chicks per photo, two photos of one on the top, two photos of another on the bottom.

My bad, girl, girl, boy, boy, girl (really most unsure on this one) boy. And just to reiterate they're only guesses

I have 2 silkie chicks. My girls have named them Lightning and Thunder. They are only about a month old, but I am thinking that Lightning is a roo, and Thunder is a pullet. This is Lightning. Notice that stance! This her is Thunder. She is showing signs of being a sizzle. I also think she is more likely to be a pullet. No matter, I love them both. I would rather have girls, but I am okay if one is a boy. All of my little chickies are such cuties!
I agree with your guesses

Thank you! I was thinking almost the same thing. I'm really hoping the first one is a hen - s/he is super friendly and rides around on my shoulder.

Hello, just joined....and new to chickens. We used to raise tropical fish and corals but now getting into chickens. We have 5 silkies, now 3 and a half weeks old. I know it may be too early to tell anything but thought I would post this picture and see if anyone has any possible guesses. What I hope to end up with is 4 hens and 1 rooster, but that is probably unlikely. A friend looked at the picture and is guessing that the 2 lighter colored ones in the middle might be roosters because of the way they are standing and are "more colorful" ...what do you all think?

Thanks

And by the way, the chicks above are kept inside right now under a heat lamp, etc...My daughter just took them outside for a few minutes...
