I have a buff and a black about 12 weeks old, but I think the buff is a boy. What do you think?

The buff is a roo for sure and your black looks more of a blue.

hmmm by the look of her head feathers,it does not seem that she is a pure silkie. all silkies are supposed to have turcuoise earlobes and fluffy,puffy feathers. your silkie seems to have different feathers on her head.

They're fluffy, they just haven't completely grown in yet. And no, I don't think she's a pure silkie. I'd be suprised if she was, seeing as I got her from Tractor Supply.

I would love to hear opinions on the genders of my babies.

This is my sizzle Wookie (about 13 weeks old). My guess is roo since he seems to always be on alert when free ranging.


I'm really not sure on the gender of these two. They don't seem to ever be on guard the way Wookie is but they do love to chest bump.
I think they are around 11 weeks.

I can try to get more pics if needed. It's very difficult since they never stay still!

Could anyone help me sex my "pet quality" silkie? he/she doesn't have a comb, and probably won't get much of one if at all, and I'd really like to know what I have since I've been calling it a "her" for the past month that I've owned it.

I got my Silkie chick from Tractor Supply a month ago and it still doesn't have head feather, we also somehow ended up with a Polish out of the Silkie box

What's my silkie???
Some days it looks like a roo others it looks like a hen.
Doesn't have the personality my silkie roo did (I could tell he was a roo at this point by behavior, but I only had 5 chickens now there is 15 so that could affect behavior as well)

My silkie is just about 12 weeks old, photos ranging from 9 weeks to 12 weeks listed most recent to oldest.

I believe that is a rooster based on how the hair on his head is going back.
Females have more of a poof on the top, boys look like it's combed back.
