silkie sexing

Thanks Momma 2 silkies, I sort of expected the bad news after really researching online and looking at other photos.  Now I have to find someone to give it to, since we found it roaming the streets.  My girls are a bit upset but happy we can get more chickens     

He looks like one of my boys. Here is a picture of my Animal.

I would say a pullet. One of my silkies crowed at 11 weeks old. A couple of days earlier I had no idea what sex they were. I put a couple of young Light Sussex pullets in with my silkies and within days one of my silkies crowed and really started to show Roo characteristics. It can bring the male instinct out if you do this but it only works with girls he hasn't grown up with, he is still not interested in his sisters but loves the new girls. Good luck anyway.

It is raining so the crests are a little flat! Top picture 12 weeks old. Splash below I am almost certain is a roo 9weeks and black below is also 9 weeks. What do ou think the sex of the two blacks? Also are they black or blue from BBS

Hi, these Silkies are 9 weeks old now. I know that's still pretty young, but what's your best guess at this point? I got them both from silkiemelon, but the black one she hatched from eggs she got from catdance silkies.
