Def a Roo! Love his color tho!
I'm still a silkie newbie but I'm guessing top is a cockerel and bottom is a pullet
How'd I do silkie veterans? Gorgeous babies too.Def a Roo! Love his color tho!
Thanks, we love him too! He is a grey cuckoo. Lucked out that he has a mulberry comb and dark skin because I've read that sometimes the cuckoo pattern (which is produced by the barring gene without the fast feathering gene) leads to red combs and pale skin. Hopefully we are correct about the other three (one buff and two splash) and we'll have a lovely little tribe of silkies. My daughter wanted to add the silkies to our flock and I wasn't too excited about it at the time. But they are the most amazing creatures, so unique. I have become a huge fan.completely agree with Roo as he has the red already starting on his head and the color...wow... I love that color. What is it called?
Both hatched june 26th
