Hi there. I have 2 silkies, both born on April 4. We bought them as straight run chicks. One is becoming quite dark and is bigger than the more caramel color one on the right. I am thinking he is a rooster (on the left). We have other breeds of sexed pullets, that are about a week to 10 days older and are much bigger. This one acts like the flock guardian in a miniature form. Lol. Any advice on these 2 would be appreciated. I can take more pictures as well. Thank you for your help.
Here's my dilemma. I need to know if these 3 month old chicks are male or female before I fall in love. I
Just don't want to end up with all Roos since I have two white silkies that I have to keep whatever sex they are. I just notice that one has bumps on its forehead already. Will females get these too? .
Well, I caught my adult frizzle rooster trying to mount each of my 10 week old silkies I've been trying to sex. Should that be good enough to say they are female? Of course, I really wanted one rooster. Go figure. Ugh.
