silkie sexing

What age would I expect them to crow?
They have lovely temperaments, I wanted them a bit younger so I could really get them used to being handled!
My other 3 where already laying when I got them so although they eat out of my hand they don't take kindly to being picked up and petted!

They can crow anytime from 6+ weeks old.

From the second set of pics. I still believe the gold one is a pullet, but the black one has girly body shape and feathering. Just keep an eye on the black one and let us know when you get eggs or a crow. That's the best way to tell with some silkies lol

Hi,

I have some updated pics of our two fluffies now, still pretty soon, I know. I guess they are around 7 weeks now however am not sure about this. If anybody can give me a better idea of their current age (see pics below) would be great

.

They are both very 'active' so it is hard to get good and sharp pics, this is the best I could do for now. (They had a day out in my veggie patch on the weekend, the bird netting was originally designed to keep birds out, comes in very handy now as we are currently still working on the chicken run

The next one is in the brooder, not a good picture I know, this is just to show their stance. At least this is pretty close to their usual body posture.

The partridge one is slightly bigger than the white one (~318g vs 380g) however the white one is fluffier (not sure if that means anything).

Thank you for an update on your guesses. Still hoping for two girls

so even if all you can tell me now is that it can still go either way I'll be happy

Also please tell me what you think about their age.

Cheers Trish

Wondering if anyone can shed light on whether my four silkies are male or female. They are about 11 weeks old.

First, our black silkie...please excuse the messy head...just got done eating fermented feed.

Tail feathers

Next, our buff colored silkie...

Tail feathers

Partridge silkie

Trying to show the tail/neck/wing feathers, but he/she wasn't cooperating

And our white silkie..

Any input is appreciated!

I am pretty sure that my Silkies are pullets based on how they stand, and the lack of streamers. (Pictured -they are 3.5 months old.). But the grey one "Moa" has started crowing. She's a weird little bird, everyone else has figured out that I am the treat giver, but she doesn't come over and thinks that treats just fall from heaven. Do I just have a transgender tween? or am I looking at a roo that has bad posture, and no streamers?
Thanks for any Help!
G

Here are my two 5 week old Silkies. They were some of the more petite chicks with less comb development and plumage than their peers. One is a grey, the other is a blue. I'm hoping at least one turns out to be a hen. Any guesses?
