Hi and welcome. I really have no idea at all. Some people say that if the top hat goes back at an angle it could be a male. I have no idea with my 5 months old.

I'm thinking no one quessed because they're really too young to tell and the photo doesn't give the best idea anyway. Go back and read the first post and if you still want a guess early give us a few more pics if possible. In that photo all but one seem to be standing quite tall but if they're not used to that environment that could explain it.Hello, just joined....and new to chickens. We used to raise tropical fish and corals but now getting into chickens. We have 5 silkies, now 3 and a half weeks old. I know it may be too early to tell anything but thought I would post this picture and see if anyone has any possible guesses. What I hope to end up with is 4 hens and 1 rooster, but that is probably unlikely. A friend looked at the picture and is guessing that the 2 lighter colored ones in the middle might be roosters because of the way they are standing and are "more colorful" ...what do you all think? Thanks
In the first two pics it looks like the one on the left is a pullet the other one I'm less sure about but could go either way. If you got them from the same stock I'm guessing cockeral. However the photos with their bodies if I'm not mistaken the way they're standing is flip flopped and the one with the iffy crest is standing more like a pullet than the other. My silkies were bad with the mixed signals too. Lol for right now and I may have to eat my words but I'm going to guess two pullets and hope someone else chimes in too.Hi! My 2 silkies are 7 weeks old. Can anyone determine their gender?? Thanks![]()

This is my silkie who is about 5-6 months old. We thought it was a rooster but he's not crowing and he sometimes acts like a hen. Can anyone tell from my picture if this is a rooster for sure?![]()
Wow, not even one guess from anyone to my post above? Ok
