Silkie Thinks He's a Duck?

I have a silkie roo who has just come of age and has starting crowing. There's just one problem...he shows he's of breeding age, but only with the ducks. He has never hung out with the other chickens and follows the ducks when the split off from the main flock. I have caught him standing in the duck pool with them. He is obsessed with the pekin girls and is constantly tryimg to breed with them. What the heck is wrong with him?! Although the thought of a Peking/silkie is quite amusing.

Was he raised with the ducks or with the other chickens? I've had it happen to a few of mine, ducks and chickens alike; chose to hang out with the other bird type and started acting like them. lol

We had ducklings and chicks at the same time when he was a baby. Maybe thays his problem lol. Its crazy. As soon as he notices one of the pekin girls he crouches and runs full speed for her across the field.

The fact that he was standing in the pool tells me all I need to know! No way would my Mr. Rooster go near the water..I don't even think he drinks!
