I agree! I fell for them a couple years ago and now I have all silkies except one EE hen I couldn't part with because of her personality and a special needs barred rock hen a neighbor couldn't care for. They are so much fun for the children as well! My silkie roo is the bigest baby. He protects his girls but still purrs when I hold him!

Hi everyone!!!! I hatched out some BBS Silkies that are about 6 weeks now. I have a couple questions....
I ended up with what I thought was 3 blacks. I took them outside the other day when the weather was really nice, and noticed that 1 was a true black. Black all the way to the skin, no light undercoat. Then the other 2 are black on the outside, but a blue undercoat. What color does that make them? BTW, I did try to take photos. Blacks do not photograph well.
Also, I have two that are splash, I think. One has silvery blue feathers with blue mixed in right now. The other is the same silvery feathers with no markings at all yet. Could they still come in, or is it something else?
