It wasn't the streamers, it was the stance. The wide breast. It could go either way.

It was me who said she looked like a he, but I'm not sure

Just saying she looks masculine.

Ahh. well I have some very wide girls. Partridge are pretty easy to tell from an early age boys/girls by their coloring. she was definately a girl though!

Can you explain? Would like to hatch out some chicks in the spring, and am wondering what are the tell-tale signs by colouring for partridge silkies.

She is a beautiful girl! In my opinion, roos are always prettier than the girls

I am so excited for you too...your babies will be fine. I remember being super worried the first time I got silkies in the mail, my PO called and as soon as I got the shipper, I opened it to check on them, they were looking at me like saying "hello there stranger".

I must say, the rooster that fathered all my girls, Partridge and Blacks, was gorgeous indeed, very sweet, bright colors all around...only one of my girls got the beauty of the dad, the other two got the pale and some bright in them and my last two Partridge hens got the beautiful bright colors mix with a good share of black in them. They are so pretty in their own way.

awww they are too cute! Very beautiful. Don't you just love them? I have fun watching mine mess around and run around the yard, or the chicks in their grow out pen as teenagers as they play fight. They look like dust bunnies with all their fuzz.

I absoultely love them! They are gorgeous and soo calm. Malibu loves to get out and roam, she is very adventurous! Dynamite just follows her around all day it's hilarious! Malibu is a princess, she is spoiled rotton! She can't see with all her fluff so i have to get her out of her house in the morning and put her, though this morning she went down all by her-self! Her eggs are tiny but soo adorable! She has a slight crooked beak...but honestly, i think it looks adorable on her! I read that silkies don't lay well, but so far she's laying great! My Australorp doesn't know she's a chicken so whenever she sees her she stares like "what in the world is that????" It's sooo funny! Malibu reminds me of Big Bird
