Silkie thread!

Thought I'd share with the group my first bantams to my flock! Four silkies. One roo & three hens. Two fo the hens are pullets. Due to ordinances, if my neighbor complains I may have to get rid of my roo.

The roo & the older hen are the black with gold pencilling. I like the contrast. The two solid black ones are pullets.

Very pretty flock!

MAN O MAN.... NOT GETTING ON FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS MEANS TONS OF CATCHING UP TO DO.... this thread is super busy! i've seen some beautiful pictures posted when i was away... ooo i just love looking at the silkie pictures !

but while i was away out of the 5 silkies that i've been wondering if they were going to girls or end up roo's my eldest Nugget (though not a full silkie) 5 months and 2 weeks LAID!!! eek! now i got two laying girls.

such a pretty little egg.... really little in comparison to my plymouth-Henny's egg...

... but i have a question, or perhaps some of you out there have experienced... my 2nd eldest-Peaches she 4 months and a week seems to be attached to Nuggets's hip...when nugget goes in the basket to lay peaches insist on perching on the basket or sitting right next to Nugget while she lays... could this mean that Peaches is indeed a pullet? or is it wishful thinking ...lol (1 down- 4 more to go ((hoping for all girls)) )
Oh wow, I didn't know that silikes could lay nice sized eggs like that!! Nice!

And, how cute is that little girl standing there showing off that egg? ey?

I finally got a really nice picture of my silkie!!! I love this picture so much! I thought she was black, but you guys think dark blue. She sort of has a mix of all kinds of colors going on it seems. I love her so much, she is the best chicken. My daughter carries her around belly up and she loves it LOL. My 2y old carries her around and she loves that too. <3 <3 <3

Very pretty girl! Silkies are the best!!

I know I'm a little late on the candling. I was hoping I'd find some infertile eggs so we could throw those away and find out how many chicks we'll have, approximately.
I'm assuming the 'clear' eggs I found are the infertile ones.

That is ridicilously cute!!!

Just to share with the rest of the world; our eggs are starting to hatch!!! I just checked on them, I found two that are piping, one of the two already has a little crack on the shell. Lots of scratching noises going on in some of the other eggs.
I'm so excited I can't stand it! I feel like a kid in a candy store. lol

Trust me, we all know what you mean! Congrats!! Happy hatching until they are all here!

Aww thanks that's my big non feathered big girl :D... U think the egg is good size? Lol it's solo small in comparison to my plymonths. We feed our feathered girls organic layer crumble sure that plays a parton their size and they get fresh veggies and fruit daily... Very spoiled girls.

This soon? ummm, thinking it looks like it could be a splash..going by the yellow in it. I kept one with just that same coloring...it is getting such pretty blue splash coloring.
