Silkie thread!

I ask this because I was told the US paints are not on Dominant white as the EU paints are.
So I wondered if they breed true ?
No US paints don't breed 100% true...I don't breed them but have been talking to folks who have some serious experience with the color... its still a work in progress here, Paint X Paint tends to make bigger bolder spots but as a result you get pigment holes in the skin. Even Paint X Paint you don't get 100% paint, Paint X black helps to relieve the pigment holes and by now most paint breeders are getting better skin color and less pigment holes...Paint X black from paint breeding - people are getting paints, red paints, black, white, blue...

Thanks for the explanation. I would like to can discus this topic more deeper, more into the concerned color genetics. Could we ?

I'm always interested in learning. There is a US paint silkie thread, the genetic discussion for paints may be better over there...You could probably get better information from those who have actual breeding experience with the color.

As I said I have no experience with the color at all, I only admire them. lol

Hahaha, in page 1 of this thread the first thing I see are the links to my website pages about Paint and other genetics !

I want to indicate that the same color-genes not (always) work in the same way on hens as on cocks.
This now is the same hen in profile, she have exactelly the same color-genes as her brother below.

These are still very young +- 3 months old.
