Blue - not Self-blue (lavender) way too dark.
Partridge I think they call them Sizzles - comes from a Silkie/frizzle cochin cross that introduced the frizzle feathering...This one looks like an early generational cross, so will probably not have alot of crest...
Hi All,
I'm a newbie with 4 silkie chicks--black, white, blue, and buff. They're ~ 2 weeks old. They're all supposed to be bearded and do have puffs of down sticking out under their eyes etc.
They are hatchery chicks so I do not expect them to be very good, but hopefully ok looking. I just care about them being nice pets, not show quality.
They're all getting beginnings of feathers on their wings and the white one's are the longest so far. They look like feathers [with barbs] at this point, not "fluff" feathers of a silkie.
Is this just how they start out, or how should/do silkie's first feathers look?
