Silkie thread!

Hi all! New owner of silkies here. Bought a one year old hen,but didn't want her to be the only one of her kind, so bought 6 more babies. I was so excited when I bought them that I didn't even ask how old they were. Here are some of the six. Can you give me an idea how old they might be? I'm guessing 4 - 6 weeks maybe??? And the colors ???

Adorable chicks! Probably 6 - 8 wks

This was my beautiful Ella. She passed away last week from heat stroke.Temperatures had spiked up to 108 last week, it was just too hot. RIP Ella. We will miss you.

So very sorry!! What a beautiful girl!

"She" maybe a dark blue partridge and it is still a project color. It's hard to tell from the photos. Here is the standard for partridge. You can still show her AOV of course. She is really pretty!! If it starts to crow, let me know! :D
Yeah! You're pretty sure Cinnamuffin is a girl.

Looking at the standard for males...Cinnamuffin doesn't have near enough red or the correct coloring. Would you still want "him" to breed your pretty partridge girl? Also, when you say "she is still a project color" do you mean because she doesn't meet the SOP herself or because partridge in general isn't a recognized color yet?
You've got a girl. Girly partri coloring. Looks like a regular partridge to me, not blue.
Yeah...another vote for girl. I am a rooster magnet, so I think I better hang onto Cinnamuffin. Unless s/he crows, Peepblessed!

OK, I have a genetic question about Cinnamuffin now that I might keep her in my BBS breeding pen. LOL-I only have one silkie pen and thought BBS would give me the biggest variety of colors that can breed.
-Cinnamuffin was an egg from a BBS breeding pen, meaning both her parents were (at least visually) Blue, Black or Splash themselves! But, apparently, one of her parents was carrying the partridge gene...the breeder admitted that one of the barriers in her incubator probably broke so when she sorted the chicks into brooders and later into breeding pens, the "parent bird" wasn't pure BBS. It is visually obvious that Cinnamuffin has the partridge gene. If I keep her in the BBS pen when she grows up, will most of her offspring be Blue, Black or Splash or will all of them be some weird color combo?

Spent most of the day yesterday hanging out with my silkies! I have all ages in one pen. 3 hens, 1 rooster as well as 5 juveniles, and 7 'kids' silkies.
So here are my adults:

The molting Pearl #3 - notice how big the cochin x barred rock is in comparison - and the baby is only 10 weeks old.

Daddy Steve
I'm numbering the babies as who belongs to which hen. All but 2 are fathered by Steve. The 2 that aren't fathered by Steve are fathered by George:

This one was mothered by a polish but the silkies are raising him/her

and this is why keep-away is a dangerous sport to play:

"Blue partridge" isn't SOP yet. I would definitely want her if she was a him which I'm 99% sure she's not. :) but that's only be if there were no DQ's. She looks like she might have a wing problem but of course there's no way to tell without spreading it. I think I'm going to breed my girl to my blue roo and then breed a baby back to her. There won't be any shipping of birds going on for a long time in this heat and it's really scary for me to think about spending that much money sight unseen. :)

If you keep her in the pen the babies will likely be black or blue with red or gold leakage in their hackles.
