OK, finally got some new photos of Cinnamuffin, which used to be called "Fluffy" until the brown/rust kept coming in!This is our surprise partridge chick from BBS eggs at 13 weeks old. The eggs were from Sherie Minkner's Silkies in Lincoln, CA.![]()
Can anyone tell if it is for sure a pullet or could it be a cockerel? Also (by appearance) does Cinnamuffin meet the SOP for partridge? I may sell herto the right home since my plan was to only have BBS silkies. But I don't know, she is a sweetie.![]()
At first I couldn't get the brown to show up and then I took some without the flash. These photos are all of Cinnamuffin. She looks a bit scruffy from sticky watermelon.

The light really washes out the coloring...photos all taken today. And, a baby picture.Cinnamuffin is in the front, right side. We never expected a partridge chick
but we sure do like Cinnamuffin:![]()

That is a partridge baby![]()
Can anyone tell me about this coloration?
It was very hot when I took the pictures and the chicks like to let their wings droop out in the heat. How can I tell if she has a wing problem myself? What do I look for?"Blue partridge" isn't SOP yet. I would definitely want her if she was a him which I'm 99% sure she's not.but that's only be if there were no DQ's. She looks like she might have a wing problem but of course there's no way to tell without spreading it. I think I'm going to breed my girl to my blue roo and then breed a baby back to her. There won't be any shipping of birds going on for a long time in this heat and it's really scary for me to think about spending that much money sight unseen.
