Silkie thread!

Oh, I'm so sorry...what kind of back surgery?? I sure hope you feel better soon, too.

OH MY GOODNESS!! My third chick hatched with severely vaulted skull (at least it looks severe to me), and its neck looks a little funny, but you can't see it in a picture. I know it's hard to see, but maybe someone can see good enough-it looks higher in person....do I need to make a tiny helmet for this one?

Don't worry about your baby. It will be fine! They can really look twisted up when they first hatch. Some can't even walk for a day or so. That's a great vault! :) Well, I had the awful kind of surgery with lots of screws, bone-graphs and rods. A long recovery I'm afraid. Thanks for the well wishes. That icon is hilarious!!

I have some B/S eggs, whites, one black, one buff, one partridge. Couple of paints, two lavenders, one porcelain. I'm wondering if I'm forgetting something...? lol I think that was all. I ordered eggs from Catdance and those were the wonderful colors I received.

I'm really, really, really, REALLY hoping for all of the lavender, porceilain and paints to hatch! And the one single buff.
How abou you?

I have not been able to show because of a handy cap. Hoping my recent surgery will change that. I seriously doubt it would cover show expenses if I had to stay out of town, but I know that shows can also be a great place to sell birds and eggs. I think people try to cover a lot of expenses that way.

I was thinking that myself, after I posted my previous comment... You'd have to have a lot of real big winning birds for them to pay for show expenses and everything. lol I don't even know if that would be possible?
But I could see the birds paying for their cost of feed & care etc.

This is Edgar, the blue cuckoo. Its not the best picture, but his head gear is pretty hard to miss! I think he's about 9 or 10 weeks old.

Oh how awesome to find someone else with blue cuckoo!!

I have one growing out as well along with a regular cuckoo sibling. These two are only a few weeks old. I can't wait till mine gets your size and hoping it's a boy!! The barring is hard to see in full sun but definitely there.

Ok...my last chickie hatched!!

Another cone head...and all four of them are white!

This one still had some goo at the bottom and when it came out it started bleeding from the umbilical cord site. I put some styptic powder on it asap and it has stopped, but is there something else I should do? Though it is getting up, sitting and peeping nicely, I'm still a little concerned.

I had one that also had the blood, it dried and was fine within a hour or so. There wasn't ALOT of bleeding though.
