Silkie thread!

Sanna how is the splash silkie chick that stayed into the dangerous turkey pit ?
This is the reply I received from her the other day:

Quote: Thanks. The little one looks better today. Eye started opening yesterday, so I don't think the turkies got the eye ball itself. Doesn't look like it. Then again, I'm not an eye expert. It's eating and drinking and complaining a lot. lol Much more active than yesterday. I'm hoping these are all good signs.

I brought one of the siblings in to keep it company, they seem to be happy in their little box. lol

I wanted to get some thoughts on this. I have a couple new birds and one (3months old) I suspect is a roo because I feel some nodules on the lower legs. I think that these nodules are the little spurs coming in, there hasn't been any comb growth though. The other morning, I was letting the birds out of the coop and this new bird came down the ramp behind Eli, my big Roo. Once they got down the ramp Eli turned around and started strutting for and around the new bird, just the same as he does his hens. So, based on how Eli is acting, is it possible the new bird is a hen even though he/she has the nodules?

Okay, I finally got some quick and dirty photos taken of my 4 month old Silkies.  5 of the 7 are hatched from Catdance eggs.  The 2 whites are a couple of weeks younger and from a different breeder.

I'm hoping you folks can help me determine sex - I know someone is crowing in the Silkie pen and I've got to clear those boys out before the Chicken Police show up at my door!  I've got a pretty good guess on a few, but need confirmation.  Once confirmed, all these boys are going to be going on Craigslist unless any Washington BYC'ers are interested.

I'll post them one chicken at a time so no one gets overwhelmed with zillions of photos!

Thanks in advance for those who choose to help me with this -

First is our Porcelain who pretty clearly is wearing a badge that says "Boy."  Correct?

SadieSue....he looks just like my paint/orange frosting girl...except my girl has only one spot and lots more frosting...he is very pretty...I want him...

I didn't get paint nor partridge eggs LOL
It had to come out of my lavender egg
And my other lavender egg apparently gave me a blue chick lmao
That's a bummer. Post us pictures of the "lavender partridge" when it gets bigger. lol I'm wondering if it'll turn out silver partridge?

Well my One Eyed Bandit is doing well. lol I call it the Bandit because it's still favoring that right eye. It opens up but as soon as I go near it, it'll close it's eye. So it must be sensitive still. Other than that, the cut on it's hiney looks to be healing well. Only think I still wonder about is the sleeping. It sleeps most of the time. I brought another chick in to keep it company and this partridge is very active and alert like your typical chick. Little Bandit just sleeps. It'll turn it's head around and put it's beak under a wing and go to sleep. I think I'll give it few more days inside and put it back outside to see what it'll do. Maybe it'll perk up being back outdoors. Maybe the box life is too boring and makes it sleepy. I don't know.

Girls have that bump, too. I even have girls (not Silkies) that have spurs
Fingers crossed!
