Agreed beautiful flock!!!!

Idahobird it looks like she got overwhelmed and couldn't really care for them anymore. So sad to have them in such deplorable condition. I'm glad that you, not really knowing, rescued those babies as some of them are quite striking to me. I'm glad you are going to take care of them and bring them back to health and happiness. Blessings Cindy
I am excited about getting them back in better shape I know she kept saying something about them having lavender genes but I am not sure if any of them are that color? To me they are black, blue and splash the one rooster has orange on his wings so not sure what that would be?

The grey patch could just be dirt - doubt it is a baby trying to hatch since it is day 14. Shrink wrapped is something you probably won't have to worry about with a broody. I help them if they've pipped and are shrink wrapped, but have only had ONE live if internally pipped and shrink wrapped, but didn't externally pip. She is 16 weeks old now - and very healthy. Some take so long to zip that their membrane dries out, and I will help these as well. I have never ended up with a deformed chick because of it. They are all healthy and thriving.
Sounds like a wonderful broody! My girl that has taken over duty has only been sitting on these well developed eggs since Monday. They will hatch way before she has been broody for her allotted time. She is that trust worthy. Last hatch she was only sitting for a week. Took those chicks like she's been doing it all her life! My little Pearl

Yeah Pearl what a good hen! I love watching them wiggle and settle in on top of their eggs and how they use their beak to gently pull them under them. It just fascinates me. Thanks.

You know the roo with the red on his wings...I think he is striking...he carries his tail really high and it's so fluffy especially living in not the greatest of conditions. Some of the other ones were holding their tails high and tight which is a good thing I hear...Can't wait to see them all washed up and purrrrttttyyyy. Cindy

Okay so I have a few baby pictures of 3 of my 7 - 1 week old silkie chicks. The other four look like these three, so that's why there are just 3 different chicks in these pictures :love
