Just this one or #1 and #2?
I think the same thing. I'm going with boy because of those streamers and hackles.Looks girly but am I seeing streamers and thick hackles?
Your sizzle looks like my young ones, but they have polish and sizzle in them (making the skin light).
My silkies scratched the crap out of their run, they love to scratch just as much as the rest of em! So it is just dirt now. I did put some tasty plants growing on the outside of the coop, so they can pick at whatever grows inward. They like the mint plants =)im getting some 4 week old pure bred silkies in a few weeks, soooooooooo excited, cant wait. should i make a new run for them that is really grassy and leafy? because my large fowl run is pretty bare because they scratched all the vegetation out and it gets a little muddy and i heard that silkies wont wreck the grass a other plants as much as larger fowl and because of their feathered feet its a good idea to keep them out of the dirt/ mud.
Please help me and im really interested to keep watching this thread.
That's aggression, and he should go.One of my Roo will will peck and jump at me if I pick up and mess with the other Roo. Is this just normal behavior wanting to protect his flock? Or do you think he's getting aggressive? Any thoughts?
Btw do u guys hatch in styrofoam egg cartons?

Whenever I pick up a roo and there's another in the pen, it frequently will try to go for it. I don't know if they think it's their chance or they think the roo becoming airborne is trying to jump and spur them. This is only true if there is some "bad blood" already between them. I have some pens where the roos are very docile and I never see any posturing between them. And my experience here is not really with silkies. My silkies are all pretty docile other than the normal chest bumping between male chicks.

Is he trying to attack the rooster you are holding, or you? He's fine any other time, just when I mess with the other Roo. He doesn't even seem to mind when I pick up the hen. He is about six or seven months old, still young. Maybe he'll get better as he gets older? They're all still going thro the pecking order.
