Ok so if I understand correctly once they start laying, you still continue giving them grower, but you add oyster shell.

At what age do you put your silkies on layers mash or crumbles? Mine are 5 1/2 months old and was just wondering when to change them over?

If you have roosters, don't ever change them over. Just add an extra feeder with oyster shell.
