Silkie thread!

I have a question guys. My husband went out there and filled the PVC feeder with layer pellets, I was on an important conference call. I have 2 roosters, 1 hen, and 2 pullets. That PVC feeder will hold about a months worth of food for the silkies. I am not sure how I can get it OUT of the PVC feeder. Just how much of a problem is this going to cause?

I personally would not worry about it. I fed my LF roos layer for years because I didn't know any better. I think it takes a very long time to do any damage.

Now I feel stupid because I even spelled scoliosis wrong. I'm not really going to make her a brace. But if I thought it would help, I'm sure I could design something.

On another subject: It has been raining here for a week. It's nice to see the sunshine. The silkies are having a frolick dust bathing in a patch of dry dirt...The LF are looking at them wishing they could join.
Don't feel stupid.

I think it would be interesting if there was a way to make braces for chickens. Well, there's a way to do everything these days, I suppose. lol But it works for humans, why not chickens?

Oh, how funny! lol

I got framework of a carport from my parents a year ago. I got it put up today and found a 20x10 tarp in a cabinet that I did not know I had. So now I have a covered area for the Silkies when they go outside in a month or so. Just need to wire it up so it is predator proof and then build the pallet coop to go under it.

I also took the chicks out today in the tractor, they did not like it. New environment and a little cold. My orphan chick was fine, scratching around like normal. But the Silkies wanted none of it. My DW said they are diva's.

Getting my first silkies tomorrow. Getting 11 4 month old breeder quality that are from East Coast Silkies. Current owner had a short time and decided to move to back to Canada. I am so excited I don't think I will be able to sleep. These will be my first chickens. I have an order of a few different breeds from Meyer Hatchery coming in Feb. I am glad you are all here in case I need help.
