This is just a heads up, many of us Silkie breeders have our sites set to private. That means if there is no indication on your page that you are a Silkie addict then chances are we'll ignore it. I know, I know that sounds all uppity, snooty. Its just the only way to keep every Tom, Dick and Harry trying to friend as many people as they can and couldn't tell you what a Silkie looks like. Except for those that know about the Silkie terriers. Its about the only way to make it about Silkies and not all the other "stuff" that's out there.

Not sure how to do this. I know there is a way to "approve" fans...but I haven't been able to figure that out yet.

Don't quote me on this but I don't think you have to approve anyone if you are not set to private. I have mine set on private to avoid the over load of non Silkie people. That isn't quite right, the over load of people whom I do not know or have some association with, like Silkies.

Basically you have to click on joining my page, I get this thing up that says you would like to "friend" me. I recognize PamB but I probably wouldn't recognize your face book name so I would look at your profile. Unless something is there that says something about Silkies I ignore the request. Well, I have approved my family members. That would be pretty bad if I told them no.

I spend very little time on Facebook so it just makes sense to keep it where I can follow what interests me.

Most of the time a broody Silkie will growl or screech or puff up at you or all three at the same time. A normally docile bird will have a fit you if you pick her up.

Oh, ok, I understand. If it seems to get out of control....I'll have to do that. Thanks for the advice

PamB, do you sell started silkie pullets? If so, I'd be interested. I live in CT and I would like a black and some other kind

I just have to expand the coop first and then I can get some more
