They patrol our skies too....BUT...our silkies are out in large turnouts all day. We have not had a hawk predator problem since I hung about 20 CD's on monofilament line above them in their turnout paddocks.

There used to be hawks and owls perched in the trees all around them but they don't even light in the trees anymore. Can't recommend it enough!!
