Silkie thread!

Today a woman contacted me to buy some of my culls through Craigslist. I didn't give her my address until the last minute and of course she stood me up. I was so frustrated not only because she didn't show up but because she had my address. I don't want to start being paranoid, but if I give my exact location to her or someone else, they could perfectly break in and steal my birds. At night, they are all in locked up coops but during the day they are in the runs and those are not locked. I am starting to think it would be better to drive in an unknown location with a few birds that I would put in a kennel crate. How do you sell your culls? Do you meet at your house?

I would definitely meet at a different location! Gas station or something

I plan on doing that if needed in a neutral location. I hate when people I don't know, know where I live.

Thank you. I feel better about meeting somewhere else because I have been putting some much time and dedication (and money) into my silkies, it would be heartbreaking to lose them.

Is your broody hen a gray?
My friend gave me two duck eggs for my broody last Saturday. Seems that is all she can handle. I candled them and one is veining and one is a dud. My friend has the other 4 and one of hers is a dud too. Due to hatch around Valentine's day I do have her in a small rectangular basket in this corner now. I think she needs some artwork so she doesn't have to stare at a blank wall. I have 2 baskets and the rest of the girls like laying their eggs with Ms. Broody. .
