These are my Three Stooges.

Im in Nh we got a ton of snow too. Hubby is shoveling me a path as we speak so I can get to the birds.

Heres a pic from this morn
I love your coops! Doesn't look like you got as much snow as we did.
This was the view from my kitchen window 7:30am today.

Some of you probably know how tall those gates are? You can only see half of it..

My chickens are in this beige building.. Silkies & cochins on right side, turkeys on left.

I dug out 5 chicken coops today. They're all spread out all over the farm.. Then we had to dig a path for our sheep so they can get to the water bucket. Same for the mini cows and goats. Of course the water buckets and shelters are at the opposite ends of their paddocks...

I don't even know if we have a plow on this farm that'll go through all this snow... Roads haven't even been plowed yet so the big plow trucks can't get here. Aaaaaaargh!!!

That little black blob is my coop haha! That is the run, it is 3 ft tall on the sides and the snow is almost to the top

Watching the snow, and probably saying "HA HA" to Toulouse and Nori

I love the little path to your coop. Lucky you only have one path. I feel like I dug a million of those this morning. It's only 11:30am right now and the horses still need 3 more feedings before the night... At least the poultry and other small animals have been taken care of.

Oh my lord at the snow lol I live in nc where u c 1 snowflake and u say ahhh a blizzard and run to the store to get ready for a bad storm lol I couldn't live where y'all are
Yeah, you people over there are lucky!

Try prancing around in snow up to your crotch. lol

Our new babies fingers crossed for a hen and roo...lol from good show stock so hoping they turn out real nice.

Really nice chicks!
Just so everyone knows: I HATE WINTER!!!!

How is the rest of the world doing with Winter Storm Nemo? Not pretty over here on the East Coast, Connecticut. I don't even want to look outside, got all the curtains closed. Out of sight, out of mind? Yeah, I wish! I can hear the wind and wet snow hitting the windows.... And the worst is yet to come.

I feel so bad for all of you buried in snow!! We got 1/2 an inch yesterday and I've been complaining about the cold all morning. Guess I'd better stop!!
I didn't think paint or porcelain have been recognized yet?
No. Porcelain is getting a name change. Probably blue-cream.

ChickNHerps I realized that as soon as I hit submit

. Yes I love your rooster, my roosters were just beautiful! They were from Ideal and I'm telling ya just wonderful, but they were getting REALLY aggressive with the larger fowl roos and girls so I got rid of them but I plan on getting more, my daughter saw your Toul, and so now she wants one just like him.

Ok to silkies, if I get a blue roo-black, splash hens then I should get some beautiful colors and variations with in the flock? I'm not really interested in showing, but who knows? I am in love with all the colors so that's why I would like some different colors, but I don't want really wacky variations either. I would like to sell chicks and eggs in the future of this breeding pen.

From what I am reading that most judges/breeders want to see an "s" shape of the stance, a nice fluffy butt, tight wings, big crest of the hens, moderate crest in roos? Overall a clean, shiny appreance of the wings, and a nice balanced body? Am I getting it close?

Thannks!

aim more for a blue roo and black/splash hens. That way you get more variations rather than mostly black. Also, to see what they want in a silkie check out peepblessed and sonoran silkies avatars. They like a short back where the head and the tail touch/almost touch when standing. a broad, low chest and a high rear end. Here is my blue(picture makes her look lavender) who a lot of top breeders have said is what they look for. She is 5 months here. Not as beautiful as peep's and sonoran's but still very nice. I suggest getting the ABA standard of perfection book, a new copy. You will also want to decide if you want bearded or non bearded. I personally like beardeds but to each his own

You should look into buying hatching eggs from a top breeder such as catdance silkies

Oh she is beautiful!! I personally love the beardeds! The hens are just wonderful, ok so I need a blue roo, black, splash hens. I honestly can't remember seeing this book anywhere, but I can defently look. I live in a very small town so we don't have a lot of variety as far as shopping. I am looking to start my silkies in April.

I am looking around to see what is available in my area. I just love Catdance's birds!! Do you know if she ships chicks? How do I get in touch with her?

Thanks!

I believe the 2 new silkie chicks I bought were from catdance eggs a BYC member local to me hatched them They are even as chicks very nice looking. I cant wait to see how they grow out.
