Silkie thread!

yes, I use Southern States from agway. They are on layer feed crumble now. I have had no problems @ all with the food. I also suppliment with BOSS and a little cracked corn. I dont use oyster shell and their shells are hard and never had a problem with soft shells. I do not have silkies yet, these are my standards. I think this food has soy in it though not crazy about that. Havent found anything better, thats not sky high in price though.
I've been doing some searching, so far HandH organic soy free looks to be the best price, AND they ship anywhere in teh us. I am going to see if agway would order a 20lb bag of starter for me, but I think I will also try their hearty hen layer mixed with it so it isn't too much calcium or protein.

I just wanted to share a few pictures I recently took :)

Lucky, I had to shovel my path haha! The chicken coop is an old dog house so the snow is up to the roof! I had to shovel out the whole thing so it didn't colapse! But my contraption of a run has held up nicely!

Yeah it is funny that some people here in Arizona will put heating lamps in their coops.. We never get blizzards here..
Just proof that I am hoping to cut & paste to share with our Fourm...

Let me know how that goes. Do you know where company is located? I would like to go organic. If its higher in protein it would probably be good when they are molting, right?

Just though I would post a couple pics of the project color chicks I got from peepblessed. They are so cute about 8 weeks old.

Wow, they've really grown. :D I'll have to post a photo of older sibbling. So much fluff!
