Silkie thread!

Well, it's not cheap but it certainly has all kinds of good things in it! The more I read on their website, the more I like this feed. lol
I'm seriously considering this feed.

I mix it with other stuff so it isn't as expensive but they are still getting the good quality. I don't have many chickens so it's not bad. Does it have any discounts if you buy in bulk?

They sell bulk orders by the ton. I don't think my 12 birds need that much food. lol I think it would be doable even if I fed them this stuff only. I might kick myself in the summer when I hatch a bunch of chicks and want to keep all of them.

What do you mix your feed with?

I really think the blue silkie is a girl now. I hope so. Picked her up today and no comb at all, girly beak and skittish like girls usually are at this age.

After such an awful day, I went out to the barn tonight dragging my feet to turn off the lights and say goodnight to everybody. Surprise! One of my Catdance girls, (Bonney or Dumpling) laid their first egg! I needed some happy Silkie news and can find it here on this thread tonight!

Catching up on all the pretty pictures posted the last few days. Wow!

Have you noticed that you can tell who's laying because their vents are huge

Haha I've noticed this with mine. The girl in my avatar has been laying more than the others and her vent is so much bigger than the other girls. Ouch. Somebody in my white pen just started laying this week, because I've been finding a blood-streaked egg with the normal 2 the past few days. Poor girl.
