Nori has another egg coming

please let her lay it easily! It feels small and it's still far in there but I could feel it. No mess please! She's still eating fine and putting up a stink for her meds. I have been giving her only a tiny bit of food and less than 10 hours of light so I hope it stays a small one and won't put a strain on her ovaduct and vent...

oh- I hope she'll be ok

I hatched 4 white, 3 Blue splash, 3 lavender (one of those is the one with the leg issue), 1 Paint, 2 Porcelain, 1 Buff, 2 partridge, 2 black. They are absolutely stunning!

I am trying to figure out how to tell if the leg issue is tendon, or splay leg? When I stretch the leg I do feel a bit of a snap, making me think it is tendon. Ahhhh, So much to learn...very fast!
In the ones I have had when it is one leg it has been a tendon problem. Im not the one for advice on that problem though.. my outcome on those has not been good. Splayed legs have been pretty easy. Congratulations on your nice hatch!

Keeping my fingers crossed for her. I have heard that this sort of thing repairs fairly quickly .

I'm hoping so, just went to check on her and she is lethargic but that's most likely because she was covered and was sleeping. I felt it again and it feels like it may be farther along so i'm hoping by tomorrow morning we have a happy Nori and a healthy egg. If she lays fine, I will leave the egg in there with her to see if she decides to sit on them. Is it okay to leave an egg in the cage with her on it's side? or do I have to let it settle for a day wide side up?

Thanks! I straightened the leg, made sure the tendon was in place, then put vet wrap around it, then did the splayed leg trick with vet wrap as well. Chick is standing much better and figuring out how to get around. I also added vitamins to their water to help. Everyone else is doing fantastic!

Quick question....I have another hen that has decided to go broody which I am Ok with. She has been setting for about 3 days, the eggs are infertile, but I have a few bantam cochins eggs in the incubator that are on day 13. Can I give those eggs to her or does she need to set for a certain number of days? I'd rather her just hatch and raise them.

If she has been sitting good for three days, give her the bator eggs. I wait until mine has been on the nest for 3 solid days before giving fertile eggs. Been successful twice now with both broody's

Should you put some lubricant in there?
