Silkie thread!

Quick question....I have another hen that has decided to go broody which I am Ok with. She has been setting for about 3 days, the eggs are infertile, but I have a few bantam cochins eggs in the incubator that are on day 13. Can I give those eggs to her or does she need to set for a certain number of days? I'd rather her just hatch and raise them.
I've put day 12 incubator eggs under a newly broody hen and she hatched them fine, so I think your hen and eggs would be fine.

I put five eggs out of my incubator that were fourteen days under a hen that was sitting for three or four days. She hatched them out and is raising the babies now.

If she has been sitting good for three days, give her the bator eggs. I wait until mine has been on the nest for 3 solid days before giving fertile eggs. Been successful twice now with both broody's
At first I thought she was sick huddling in the corner, I noticed that she had assumed that broody crouch. When I tried to pick her up, she growled at me...

Low and behold...hogging everyone's eggs. So much easier to let Mamma hen hatch and raise them. I'll put them under her tonight.

Well I went to check on her and i'm glad I did! I can't feel a definite egg anymore so not sure if it was just a bone I thought was or what, we'll know soon enough, but I DID fine that her cloaca was SUTURED SHUT(just opened enough for poop to go through)! SO glad I went in and woke her up to check on her! So I removed the sutures myself fairly easily. I knew he said he sutured her up so she didn't prolapse but he didn't make a suture removal appointment and I thought he was talking about the oviduct. Plus the sutures are the same color as her skin so I couldn't see them.

A werid behavior showing in my little Catdance babies. If this sounds like something you have seen, please respond.
It started with the Paint chick. Chirping loudly in distress and pecking at itself in agitation. Mostly it's feet. Like fire ants were biting it. Jumping up and running around. Four hours later three more chicks are exhibiting this weird behavior. I think it looks like some kind of allergic reaction. They are otherwise eating and drinking and not acting sick. Just possessed with pecking their feet and wings. Weird.

Is it possible, not likely knowing your up keep, but could it be mites?
