Silkie thread!

Here's the silkie that we got yesterday, but she doesn't look nearly as fluffy as the rest of the silkies on here. We were told she is about 5-6 weeks old and her feathers are just coming in. Is this accurate? Is she pure silkie? Will she look like the other fluffy silkies that are posted here? And is she even really a "she"? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!!!
Very cute... it look like a silkie to me.. not so sure about the "she" part.. too young and from the picture you couldnt tell. As far as looking like the other ones on here it will all depend on genetics. She/he may or may not... but Im sure it will be adorable

Thanks so much for the quick response! So, she IS silkie - but why is she not as fluffy as other silkie babies? Is this normal? Will she get big and fluffy?
Thanks again!
I have a hen that produces really fluffy babies but they are slow to get there fluff so give it some time before you get discouraged.

Here is the Silkie that I thought was Grey, but the judge said Lemon Blue? on my entry card. Can anyone tell me if this is a lemon blue Silkie or if there is even such thing as a lemon blue Silkie

He looks more lemon blue than grey. I have never seen a lemon blue silkie though. He does have similar colours to what I'm used to seeing for lemon blue cochins.

He looks lemon and blue where greys look blue and silver.

I am not explaining that right I know it.

I entered what I thought was a grey silkie in a chicken show, but the judge wrote "Lemon Blue?" on the card, is there such thing as a lemon blue silkie? I will try to post pics of her tomorrow.
Lemon blue is a recognized variety for other breeds. If the judge is ABA/APA licensed, and wrote that, I would guess that the bird conformed at least to some extent to the lemon blue standard.

Lemon blue is a crow wing pattern with a blue body, gold hackle, saddle (on males) and breast lacing.

okay need some help... any opinions? and is the last one an aircell?

It's SO HARD to see the yolk, all I have is a little flashlight and the yolk moves away when I turn it. The egg shell is pretty thick too and it's hard to see... it's been 4 whole days, 4 1/2 now(set them at 6pm on friday)

When you candle, hold the large end up, pointy end down. I never expect to see development until at least a full week...
