I will post pictures as they hatch :)

I just got another Silkie. It is a chocolate brown color. A friend hatched it out with my bantam eggs because she was in hen house when Mama laid egg.

She only has one partridge frizzle roo the rest are blue and white. I'm hopping I get a partridge frizzle hen to go with my trio. They had chipmunk striped this one is solid with no stripes. I will try to get a pick on tomorrow.

I would guess light blue by the looks of this color, but I'm not sure how accurate the colors of the picture are..?

This is a splash chick. Is yours this light in color?

I think what you're doing, will work. Just handle them as much as you can, as often as you can. Are they young birds?
no, it isn't like that it is dark like the picture. I was only thinking splash, because the other two are light like that and they're actually blues!!!!! and this one has pigment and the other two do not. So, I was assuming it was from the other rooster. And if that is the case, the other rooster is a splash also and splash and splash make splash LOL. I highly doubt this chick came from my other hen, because none of her eggs in 25 eggs have been fertile. and if both male and female parents are carrying that non pigment gene, then how would this one chick have pigm, ent?? so strange.

Not knowing the parents this chick is out of, I'd say light blue by the looks of the picture. I've seen all different shades of blue chicks...as well as adults. But if the parents were splash & splash, that should give you splash. Unless one of the parents was from BBS or BS breeding...then maybe it would be possible for the chick to turn blue?? I have no idea. I don't know the genetics that well.

These are some of my blue chicks. The ones on far right and left, those are blue. The one in the middle is the splash.

All of the following are different shades of blue.

Two blues there in the mix.

That's just a few of what I've hatched myself.
I'd be interested to know how your chick turns out! Is it doing any better?
