They kinda look like buff to me... But maybe (probably) white instead since whites hatch a yellowish color frequently. Lighting is tricky with showing a color online. Give them a week or so and they will start feathering out and you'll be able to tell easier.
Also in case you wanted to know (and also I'm bored and feel like talking lol) the vast majority of silkies here in the states are bantams it's the standard here you won't usually see them sold as a standard size unless you're talking about imports I'm guessing. Although I've seen rather large silkies the standard calls for around 28-32 oz (that's including juveniles as well as adults) I can't really tell but they look bearded from the pictures. I also haven't had any non bearded chicks so yeah I'm not a good one to answer that...
I'm sure they are going to bring you untold amount of joy and amusement! Silkies are such an amazing breed I'm sure everyone here on this thread would agree
Tell your story! I like stories, how many did you get??
I was wondering if they were white or buff. I'm thinking white too, but some are quite yellow, time will tell.
I had went to
TSC for shavings for horses, and just browsed the chicks, truly not intending to purchase any, as I was satisfied with what I had at home. But when I seen the Silkies were sharing a bin with duckilings, partitioned by cardboard, sharing a brooder lamp (which the ducks got most of), and standing on wet shavings, I couldn't leave them there. They just arrived that day and were tired, stressed and wanting to, but unable to lay down because the warmth of the lamp was negated by the wet of the shavings. The ducklings waterer was next to the lamp, leaking over to the Silkie side because the ducks were in the water. So I bought all 26. I couldn't leave any behind. (My
TSC isn't the greatest at chick care). So here they are.
Thank you for your thoughts on their color, I was just purely curious.
