The light one looks like a frizzled silkie! Is she?
I have trimmed the muff, may look into getting some hair tape for her crest, I would really like to show her, but I have had so many problems with her when trying to integrate her into the white pen I have with 12-ish adult birds. I know my husband has been looking for some diapers for her and *Chrystal (spelled it wrong before) because they are the only pullets I was able to hatch and keep from LFB (roo in profile picture) before he was taken by a hawk in April. Right now, Eve and Chrystal are outside in a rabbit hutch turned brooder/sick call chicken pen, where I can monitor the food and water intake and keep an eye on them from the living room.Trim the feathers that block her vision with baby nail scissors. Most are prbably from her muffs, but there may be some crest feathers blocking her vision as well. And if you plan to keep her inside, consider chicken diapers.
precious!!!Hey everybody. I haven't been on in a while. Love all the pics!
My little rescue duckling is doing well. He's 3 weeks old now and has been "adopted" by the 3 Silkie chicks who are around 7 wks old and Ginger, a buff Silkie that is 12 weeks old. He imprinted on Ginger and is so cute following her around. She's being a good "mom" even at her young age and really looks out for him. Over the weekend he discovered water is for more than drinking. I was such a proud momma when he took his first swim in the little tub of water.
Here's Skittles and his adopted family.
