New pictures of my Buff Catdance kids today.



The smallest chick of the batch was the last to hatch. She has a smushy crop so I'm going to isolate her today and treat her to some yogurt.

She has a cute cushion and great color.






I think this is a cockerel. A few streamers seem to be coming into his crest. There is a little pink showing in his comb and a tiny bit of smut but over all, I like him. They are both four months old.

Here's a good question for the seasoned veterans, after a young roo starts to crow, approximately how long until he gets the hang of doing his "manly duties"? I have a 6 m/o who has the most amusing crow, but I'm not sure if he has caught on to his other responsibilities as the man of the coop.

I have a 4 month old that I have seen breed but he is yet to crow. I didn't think he was old enough or knew what he was doing but he hit the make. He is now looking for a new home.

I've had my Catdance cock with a trio of pullets for two months. I've got two broody hens setting on some and I put eighteen in the incubator. I have two more White boys waiting in the wings to mature a bit before giving them a go. This one cockerel is Sheryl Butler breeding. I hatched him out on Dec. 31, 2012. He is only six and a half months old! Hes been crowing since four months old and trying to breed since five. He is rough and inexperienced with the girls but his type is so spectacular I'm switching out with the Catdance boy. He needs a rest anyway.
Took him out of the pen as is. Dirty and and broken foot feathering. Still....I am so happy with the way he is coming along. Meet Mr. Big Foot. Named by my then two year old Grandson.








His cushion has been trimmed. I'm really looking forward to chicks by this guy.
