Quote: Post photos of your other birds and we will critique them for you.
For the boy pictured here, the one major issue that I might see (photos can lie) is that in hte last photo he looks like he might have a wry tail? (Twisted to one side). That is a very bad fault, and would mean he shouldn't be bred as he will pass it on to his offspring. If his tail is okay, then all my comments are nit picking.
Too many non-silkied feathers in his tail, crest is a bit lacking (that could be that some helpful coop-mate is over grooming it). His type is awesome, and he has TONS of saddle feathers! Nice beg fluffy bird!
Quote: He may be from a prcelain project pen (porcelain is a project, not a finished variety), but he definitely does not have two copies of lav, so he definitely is not porcelain. He might be a breeder for porcelain, but definitely not the variety itself. This is porcelain:
Now with silkies, mottling has not been bred in (which is why they are now being called self-blue cream), but these are the colours you get with two copies of lav.
Likely a sunburned black. When he molts, you will know if he is dun. chocs are VERY rare.New rooster! Just got him free. Poor dude was covered in lice and scaly leg mites so he isn't much of a looker ATM. I think he will look nice for a non-bearded once he's conditioned. How do you all think he will look? Also, is he a chocolate? burnt black? Or a burnt blue? The lady was calling him black but with all this feather loss I can't tell. He looks brown and has some slight copper coloring in his hackles.

Quote: Not necessarily CRD, there are a number of respiratory infections. Warm wet compresses to the eye to open it, antimicrobial eye drops or ointment (even neosporin would work) will help along with the durmycin.
Yes, it is possibly dust or eye injury, but the sneezing is why respiratory sounds likely.Even some table salt dissolved in warm water will do the trick. I draw it up into a syringe and squirt from the beak outwards . You don't want to drown them. I used human eye drops in my Roos ear when he had sinus infection. Our avian vet was happy for me to do so. I have since used them on a goat with conjunctivitis , with great results. Could this just be a reaction to a dusty environment ? You should isolate them until you get a better idea of what you are dealing with.

This is not how the ocular form of Mareks presents. Mareks causes a grey iris and irregular shape to the pupil. It does not cause blindness, swelling or oozing. http://extension.usu.edu/files/publications/publication/AG_Poultry_2013-01pr.pdf and http://www.avianweb.com/mareksdisease.html show photos of an eye with occular Mareks.Thank y'all I am going to do just that.... After looking up mareks I am a little worried. Her eye that she can open is farther back if that makes any since. I can't get a good picture of it but it doesn't look right. I also notice my barred rock has a weird right eye that is farther back like that..
IMO, hte VetRx is not really helpful as a medicine. Terramycin eye ointment would be helpful. YES, put saline drops in her eyes to clean them out. Tears contain saline. Thanks everyone!!! So glad y'all are so supportive on this forum! I placed some of the salt water on her eyes and she opens them every so often. I don't imagine I should place them in her eye while they are open correct?
Also just so I can be sure I have this right. I need to go to the feed store and get either tylan or something called duramycin? And get some vet ex to rub on their combs and such? Anything else I need to pick up while I am there?
I am going to deep clean there cage I have them in right now and the entire room they are staying in.
