Silkie thread!

Sounds like she might have been pecked in the head or be under some kind of stress. Polyvisol or vit/electrolytes in the water hopefully will help. She may always have the twitch. I have one that only does it when stressed too much. I'm hoping mine will out grow it too.

We have 2 orphaningtons and 11 silkies we know the big girls are laying the big eggs but what's with the other ones?

I love him! I'm keeping an eye out for some this color, or salmon. Pam

Hopefully, I will get eggs to share a little later when they start laying again....and I trim some butts! My hens are 1 black, 1 blue and not quite sure if the other is a blue or a blue something color!.

I have three silkies that are 2 months old. The last few days I noticed that 1 of them has been twitching her head. Its weird. She isn't sick she eats and drinks. Wondering if polyvisol will help

Hope it hasn't been pecked on the head and gotten wry neck. I just had to have my DH put one down for me last week week that had! :(

I got pictures to see if anyone wanted to make guesses on gender for my 8 week olds, but they won't upload to my computer.

How big is her crest or her muffs/beard? They will do that a lot because they get feathers in their eyes. Also check her ears for mites. Probably nothing to worry about. Shaking of the head doesn't mean wry neck.

Your Silkies are laying dark eggs, that's for sure! Isn't it neat how those small chickens can lay such a large egg for their size? Your Orp better start laying bigger eggs to go with their big bodies!
