Silkie thread!

These are chickens...  They are livestock and not humans.  Expecting them to act like humans is unrealistic.  As you said the feeder hadn't dropped any feed.  They were probably just hungry and trying to find something to eat.  If that means fighting a flock member for it, it happens.  I've personally never had luck combining silkies with largefowl, some do...

Now not to start anything but some of my birds do get jealous. Especially my goose.

I have a question to all...I'm hatching my white silkie eggs, but I believe my buff silkie bread her too and I have a white silkie hatched with dark fluff on feet, and what looks like dark stripes on her little wings!! Ive never seen this before!! Can anyone help me identify this little one? And another little one born after her is tan with dark stripes? Gonna try to download!! I'm new here but this site has helped me so many times!! I love my silkies!!!

This looks like a mixed breed chick. Half Silkie, half not Silkie. Pink toes and hard feathers on wings. If it is a female, she could be a great little broody hen some day.

I agree, this looks like a X , what other breed Roos do you have? It looks a lot like my sussex chicks.

I have a splash and a partridge chick 1 month old I have a 4 and a half month old blue silkie The blue is 99% positive hen The partridge chick has a wide comb spot But I just read that partridge can be sexed by color It has speckles on its wing tips if that helps

Thank u guys!! The only roosters she has been around are a white and buff silkie, so its definitely a mystery to me!! I'll try to get a pic of them up here too. I just got rid of my big black/green/purple Polish roo but he wasn't with her. ...I sure HOPE NOT!! :-but my buff rooster does have some black feathers on his big bottom!! 0

This is the other baby that hatched out 2 days ago that I'm unsure of. Buff , red or partridge maybe? I've had grown silkies for about 6 months but I'm finally getting some eggs to hatch. Yay!! I love my little fluff balls!! Thank everyone for helping me btw!!

This one looks like partridge . If your polish had access to your silkie hen , anything is possible.
I watched a rather large light sussex roo mount a silkie, and I have a silkie roo who is besotted with a gold laced Wyandotte .
