Silkie thread!

My little paint pullet is keeping the chicks warm. :D

non stop peeping. he wants OUT of that bator! the other chick in the brooder hears him, so it is a lot of peeping! :) I'm so excited, I might not be able to sleep!

I'm pretty sure now that I have a hen and a roo, so I may be hatching Silkies after they start breeding and laying (I special ordered them from the feed store; they were hatched on May 7th, I picked them up May 8th). Then again, I also have a Cochin roo that might try to mate with the hen...

Just candled. 4/7 eggs are viable, and seen movement! Looks like I'll have a paint, a lavender, and two porcelain! One egg is dead/blood ring, and the other two aren't fertile it seems since they have no development. :(

Think I might pitch the blood ring one and leave the other two in to help with temp regulation and humidity and what not. No leakage or smell, so nothing should explode lol.

I thought I was the only one who put a harness on their chickens HAHA

I live in a small town (less than 600 population and the town is only a square mile in size), so I carry them with me when I go places, like the store or to the restaurant and I sit outside with them for a bit and let them explore and meet people (they love people). They are on leashes, not tethered.
