Silkie thread!

When I've used a mirror I think it comforts them when they really aren't well, I also put a stuffed toy in there. I did notice that back when I did this when Peepers was sick with her crop problems, once she started to feel better she started getting super interested in the mirror. Like a huge stare down lol that's when I took it out.

Took a few pics of my White Silkies. They're not in their top shape yet... but they're finally growing feathers back after their molt. Boy they got ugly! I thought someone switched chickens on me!! They should be back to normal by the show in June, I hope.

I wish the two molting girls in the blue pen would hurry & grow their feathers back... they're beardless right now!

I do have a question for you Silkie folks that have owned their Silkies alot longer than I have. What is a variety that not many people work with? After I get some Partridge hatched out I would like to work on another variety but one that not many work with.

Gray, and it would go hand in hand with partridge.

All of these Silkies are gorgeous!
I wish i had one :[
I'd really like to get one, but i don't want to order 25 online :[
I have a little giant still air incubator for my reptile eggs, but i'm not breeding this season, so would my best bet be to get some hatching eggs?

Besides showing and brooders what else are silkies good for? I know they are great pets, but what else? I have 6 that I bought from TSC not knowing that they were silkies. Can they handle the cold weather, are they good bug eaters. From what Ive read they are below average egg layers. Not trying to get anybody worked up just wondering what to do with the ones I have.
