What color would you say these lil babies might be as adults? The father is a Porcelain bearded Silkie and the mom is either this white non bearded silkie hen or a black bearded silkie hen that carries the blue gene

My guess is you will have to wait until it is somewhat older. This little guy and his brother feathered out to white.

Would not have believed it , if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes!

One of my older hens giving the uppity young showgirl cockerel the 'what-for' after he got too full of himself. Never underestimate the power of hen silkies to go full ninja when necessary. This hen has even taken on dogs and turkeys in the same style when it comes to her chicks (a few of her older ones are in this picture, actually)


And a young pullet doing her best glamour pose. Both of these pictures were photobombed by turkeys. Those darned birds are always underfoot, they can't stand to miss any action. I love them though, they have such personality.

I went to take a photo of my silkie one time......my OE popped her head up! LOL

I captures the before and after picture.....but for some reason my camera did focus on my silkie!

Funniest thing happened today. I had the bantam coop open letting them get out and range a bit. The ducks and Bantam boys from the bachelor house were out too. Up the road a car alarm went off. All.. every single one out if that bantam coop went flying back to their coop as fast as could be. The others who are out alot more looked at them like what the heck are you doing. It was so funny to see al the d'Uccle and Silkie running like a bat out of hadies. If I could only get a alarm to go off if danger is near.
