An example, I have an EXCELLENT young partridge pullet in all areas except that she has 6 toes per foot. I also have a very typey, excellently coloured partridge cockerel who has only for toes per foot. They cannot be SQ as they both possess a DQ. However, those two traits mitigate each other, and they will likely parent some very nice offspring who will be SQ. I consider them BQ for that reason. Some would not consider them BQ due to the presence of DQs--allowing only for defects. Personally, toes are one of the easiest things to work with and correct. I'd much rather work with a bird who has bad toes than one who has bad wings or even worse, bad type.
