Silkie thread!

I have a question, my beautiful silkie hens have been going through what seems like a perpetual molt. Last summer they were gorgeous. They get a lot of vitamins and I try to keep them in top condition for breeding, but last fall they all got beard lice somehow. I was devastated, and they lost their beards. I have three hens, pictured above, that look awful right now. Tails are super thin, crests are also. I don't know what it could be other than they just turned a year in december, maybe slow molting. Or the lice really messed up their plumage and it is taking forever to come back. Although the lice is gone, they seem to look worse than before. Not neglected bad, just not so pretty right now lol. I hope some of you can help me with this. I want to get them back to their usual beautiful selves. Thanks! for instance .. Luna, in back looking at the camera This is her now. Is so frustrating to know you have good quality birds and no matter what you do, it seems to be wrong. Help! LOL
Not sure, but it may just be a coincidence that they had lice at the time of molt. I have bearded and non bearded and they often throw a bearded chick. Without knowing the complete genetics of your birds, there may well be non bearded in the line. With that being said birds often change in appearance after their first molt. This might be the final result. Still a very nice bird.

My chickapoos are one month old now

My son was holding this little crown gently on their head so I snapped a few pics of that too LOL

Figured I would join the silkie thread. Trying to hatch my 1st set of eggs and have shipped silkies... I know, bad choice for a first hatch, but how could I resist!!?

for those of us who might have to go the shipped eggs route do you have any tips for us?
number 1 is to invest in a an egg turner, this has enabled their air cells to heal while incubating I believe.
Some I let sit for 3 hours, some for a day or two (wouldn't wait as long as two days, but I had some vacancy issues...As in, there was no vacancy in my incubator! Lol

thanks! I just purchased a turner as I had 24 shipped eggs that never hatched. All hand rolled. Have 2 incubator going now with a whole new process.
