im anxious to see what this silkie of mine will color up like.

Very cute. The chick not the toe. Could be a blue with leakage around the collar. This is mine grown up.

My oldest chooks are both the same age and color, but they both feathered out quite differently. The one I thought was a male, but I'm thinking is a pullet. Her crest came in first, and she has no comb. The other one has started to grow a mulberry comb, and has a smaller crest that does swoop back. Is it safe to say I have a pair? Ill post pics later.

Is it true that partridge Silkies are easier to sex sooner then normal? How? Why?

I have a black and a white baby, pretty sure they are boys by how BIG and WIDE their combs are, even though they haven't shown any real development yet.

How long are the ankle feathers on the back of it's legs? If they are short? That's usually a hen!
